| Would Nascar Do This? |
8 Dec |
nascar is always talking about the fans and now there is talk of switching dates i live in new jersey and pocono is the closet track for me to go to if they would switch a date to kentucky or las veges by stealing one or both of pocono’s dates were are the local fans supose to go the way gas prices are going fans wont be willing to other tracks and there really arnt many tracks here in the northeast if there is no pocono race the next closest track is dover or new hampshure or even watkins glen but be honest who wants to go to watkins glen so my question is would nascar leave pocono alone or it they do,do anything leave at least one race there ?

It’s not NASCAR it’s the tracks owner, which could be Bruton Smith and he’ll move races to “his” prefered tracks. So yes the fans around Pocono would be the losers.

They need to take a race from California, which never comes close to selling out, and give one to Kentucky. Kentucky had 70,000 fans for last nights Nationwide race…how many tracks get that many for a Nationwide series event? I think it was their third sellout in a row. I know everyone in the Ohio/Kentucky/Tennessee area would LOVE to see a Sprint Cup race at Kentucky and it would be a sell out EVERY year!

If they wever do take a race away from Pocono, I won’t EVER watch the race that the date goes to. Pocono’s special to me because the 2002 Pennsylvania 500 was the first race I watched every lap of. Also my favorite driver, Awesome Bill Elliott, won the race. I would hate to see Pocono lose a date.

Hahaha, way to knock on my home track (The Glen).
I’m travelling to Richmond in September for the Chevy Rock n Roll 400…. that’s a good 8 hours away from me. But it’ll be worth it! It’s gonna be my first race.
I guess it helps that we’re taking a little car that gets 38mpg….

i think there will be at least one race at Pocono for the foreseable future. they might lose one race with that race going to Kentucky or Memphis
I also see Califonia speedway losing one race in the near future and i hope that one goes back the the “Rock”

You don’t need to worry about the Pocono races going anywhere Brudon Smith doesn’t own the track and the Matioli’s aren’t selling so the races there are safe
